Welcome to
Partial Floor
One man's attempt at articulating his consumer experience by rating things he uses based on his subjective determination of "Worth".
I am aware that I spend resources to consume goods and services. I want to navigate effectively when presented with choices.
I want to gain capital. I care about worthiness.

Akin to a pensive bulletin, I hope my insight can somehow be for the betterment of others too.

My Mission
My mission is to empower and entertain you through my personal reviews of products, services, and life experiences. I am articulating a journey of self-discovery, really. Admittedly self-indulgent, I do hope that by sharing some wisdom, it helps you make informed decisions that enhance your quality of life.
I hope this turns choices into opportunities. Join me as I undertake a review of my life choices, explore with me, laugh, and learn together on this partial, yet impactful, floor of life.
What is capital?
Capital is simply the resources that we already have, that we work for, and that we want more of.
At Partial Floor, I consider just three types of capital: financial, intellectual, and social.
Our society necessitates our access of money buy things that we need and want; financial capital.

I develop empathy and derive join when I join a workplace or a community; social capital.
Our kids gain experience when they go for classes; intellectual capital.

To facilitate my own understanding and growth, I allocate a score towards every good and service I review. Each type of capital is simply "Beneficial" or "Detrimental", subjective to me.
For example, my purchase of a Google Pixel 8 Pro will likely earn a "Detrimental" score for financial capital, but a "Beneficial" score for intellectual and social capital. Seems too simplistic? Well, that's why I write reviews in prose too! I also include a worthiness rating to help you discern better. Find out more below!
What is worthiness?
Everything is ranked as "Worthy", "Not Worthy", or "Worthy, if..."
Does the quality meet expectations?
"Worthiness" refers to the quality or condition of being deserving of something, often tied to a sense of value, merit, or suitability. I apply it to products, services, and experiences, to assess their appropriateness, quality, or moral standing.
Does it deserve capital expenditure?
In the context of Partial Floor, worthiness relates to the extent to which the goods, services, or experiences I review are considered deserving of attention, investment, or consideration.
Would I do it again?
If something is so worthy, I would want to experience it again, right? Right? If the answer is "no", is it truly worthy?
Do I derive enough benefit to repeat my experience? Do I gain sufficient capital from it?
Put together, how does the rating look like?
I simply combine a capital score with a worthiness ranking!
This is beneficial to your social and intellectual capital!
This is detrimental to your financial capital!
Worthy!
Worthy, if...
Not worthy!

Why bother?
For the longest time, I have put together spreadsheets, timetables, and mindmaps in an attempt to structure my life as efficiently and as well as I can. I try to remove "What, If"s.
I then weigh on the effort I put in versus the output received, before fumbling somewhere and starting over again. I also see a new economy booming, and before I get left behind, why not try my hand at it (in case my kid wants a hand in that)?

So now with Partial Floor, I tangibly articulate (whether with words, puns, videos, or photographs) what I have always been tacitly aware of, so I don't get into another cycle of "What, If".
I want to reduce the fumbles, and get cracking. I want that for you too!
